The Washington reserves who had to step in didn’t shy away from their chance to show what they could do, either. Wall had 26 points and 12 assists, and the Wizards won hours after making a multiplayer deal at the NBA trade deadline, 99-89 against the New Orleans Hornets on Thursday night.

Despite both teams’ overall play this season, the Washington Wizards and New Orleans Hornets probably feel good about facing each other with the hopes of ending their respective current rough stretches. The Wizards look to avoid a seventh consecutive road defeat and hand the Hornets a fourth straight home loss Thursday night in a matchup of two of the NBA’s worst teams. Read More: Andray Blatche (F – WAS), Nick Young (G – WAS), JaVale McGee (C – WAS), Washington Wizards, Los Angeles Clippers The NBA trade deadline is less than 24 hours away, and the Washington Wizards are still trying to deal Andray Blatche, but they’re not finding many potential takers, according to a report by Michael Lee of the Washington Post . “Dray won’t be moved due to a lack of interest,” one person with knowledge of the situation said on Wednesday. According to an ESPN.com report, the Wizards tried to pair JaVale McGee with Blatche to get teams to budge, but the same source said that package “doesn’t get it done.” Another person with knowledge of the Wizards’ thinking wasn’t ready to give up on Blatche being dealt, saying that whether or not he can be moved “remains to be seen.” If the Wizards can’t find a taker for Blatche, they can look to deal him near the draft.

The Washington Wizards and Portland Trail Blazers combined for 42 personal fouls on Saturday night in a game that was rugged from the early going. At no time during Portland’s 110-99 victory was that more apparent than when Trail Blazers center Marcus Camby and Wizards forward-center Kevin Seraphin exchanged shoves and words with 1 minute 45 seconds to play in the first half. Following Gerald Wallace’s jumper that gave Portland a 52-46 lead, Camby and Seraphin got tangled underneath the Trail Blazers’ basket.
