“Washington Wizards center Brendan Haywood, who missed Saturday night’s 119-102 loss at Milwaukee with a right ankle sprain, said he expects to play Wednesday night against the Bucks at Verizon Center.

Haywood rolled the ankle during the third quarter of Friday’s home win over Orlando. He returned to the game after having the ankle re-taped, but it swelled after the game and was still a problem before tip-off Saturday.

“It’s a sprain, but not a really bad sprain like the one Etan has,” Haywood said, referring to center Etan Thomas, who has been out since Dec. 9 with a severely sprained left ankle. “I’ll get some ice and some rest and it should be okay” by Wednesday night”
